Day 30 We Explore Aust Part 2 2010

Went for a tour of St Lawrence graveyard very interesting, then down to the boat ramp and there was some water there. That is we are told unusual

Back down the road and we stopped for wood, Francis likes to have his fire pot going, its made out of an old gas cylinder, its very efficient, and he has a small chain saw.

Going to try and add some pic, but who knows if it will work I haven't got full service.

Day 29 We Explore Aust Part 2 2010

Had to go to Centrelink today, they hadn't paid me since 26th May and there was a problem with the old Bedelph Family Trust, which no longer exists and I have been telling them for the last five or six years, that took a while, but at least it is fixed.

Lots of Bull statues in Rocky also lots of traffic lights that seem to stay red for ages.

Heading up to St.Lawrence with Lorraine and Francis for a few days. We have passed lots of wide loads on the road, but today this one had two police car escort and we had to get right off the road. I did manage to get a bit of a pic.

Day 28 We Explore Aust Part 2 2010

Used my washing machine today it made a funny noise when it went one way so after I had finished Gerald and Francis had a look and fixed the problem.

Yesterday when we finished shopping and heading back to the bus the six bottles of wine I had brought fell off the trolley and three broke, so when we were out with Lorraine and Francis to day I got another six. That will keep me going for awhile.

Day 27 We Explore Aust Part 2 2010

Filled up with gas this morning at Gin Gin and heading for Rockhampton to meet Lorraine and Francis friends from Tassie.

The roads in this part of Queensland are not that good, at one stage Gerald commented on a good section and of course after that is was really bad.

Had lunch at Calliope Crossing. Found our friends behind the Archer Hotel and we went and stocked up on food, bit short after the weekend.

Day 26 We Explore Aust Part 2 2010

The PA system started at 6.30 am this morning, getting the competitors down for scrutinising and safety checks.

Madden Racing consists of Jake, Brandon and their cousin Jessie. Only on Wednesday did the Jake and Brandon find that they had been up graded to Senior Unlimited. So Jake was on a 250 and Brandon on 125 competing with 450 so finishing in the middle of the pack was very good in the first race, but after that they both kept falling off pushing to hard. Jessie raced in Junior Lites 125 and Mini Lites on an 80 where he got a second and that was the best result for the weekend.

Racing finished about 3 pm so we packed up and went to Gin Gin for the night.

Day 25 We Explore Aust Part 2 2010

Last night Brandon with his uncle Joel drove past us not realising that we saved them a space. Brandon eventually woke up and they moved up next to us. Dena and Sean didn't arrive till midnight. They had trouble getting Jakes bike to go, and on the way up it rained and their bedding got wet so we had Jake and Ben sleep with us on the pull out couch.

Neither either of our boys were racing today and that started at 7.30 am, Gerald didn't have a sleep in.

Dena pointed out some of the boys that she knew so we had someone to watch. Ben had his friends in to watch Cartoon Connection on Austar

Day 24 We Explore Aust Part 2 2010

Set off about 9.30 filled up with LPG and ULP in Maroochy. About six miles south of Gympie is a dump point so we did that and headed on. They have got lots of passing lanes but they aren't very long so if there are a few trucks not all get past, but that didn't worry us this time.

On to Childers a very old quaint town it looked did our shopping at a Foodworks and round the corner up pops Woollies. Oh well.

We are in sugar cane country here. Saw a different thing today smallish truck carrying a helicopter and towing a caravan....way to go.

We are at Bundaberg to watch the boys, Jake and Brandon, race in Moto cross. We have tapped an area off for Madden Racing, lucky we did its only 5 pm and its filling up.

Day 23 We Explore Aust Part 2 2010

Decided to spend another night here. So we caught a bus to Sunshine Plaza. Guess what we had to check out first...what was on at the movies. Shreck 3 in 3D was on Gerald wanted to see that. So we had lunch at a place where they did deals lunch and movie ticket at a set price, it was ok. We had time to put our prescriptions into a chemist then off to the movies. Even though I wasn't to enthuastic I did enjoy the 3D movie.

Day 22 We Explore Aust Part 2 2010

Moved on late today, not going far only to Alex Headlands or there abouts. Almost got caught on the toll for the West Gate Bridge. I wasn't sure how much it was so I rand Dena and she told me that its all done by E tags would be worth our while getting one as they are Australia wide.

We ended up at the Sea Breeze caravan park, which we had seen when we stayed in Alex Headlands. Very nice, right on the beach no pool so there were no kids.

Went and had a look at the beach bit windy but not cold. At last shorts weather.

Day 21 We Explore Aust Part 2 2010

Gerald and Jake went to Jimboomba and got a part for his ute but still couldn't get it going looks like it may be electrical. So they put new ball joints in the Blue car, looks like he will have to drive that to work for a while.

We were suppose to leave today but it was quite late by the time they had finished with the Blue car so one more night here. I just got a couple of cooked chooks and made....you guessed it potato bake. Luckily I have all my potatoes from home I am into my last bag.

Day 20 We Explore Aust Part 2 2010

Big day to day we drove to Loganlea and caught the train up to the Ecca to the Motor home and Caravan and Camping Show. Fantastic day made us realise just how lucky we are to have the motor home we have. Gerald got a couple of lights and I got a toaster for the gas stove not really the one I wanted but it will do until I get the right one. Back on the train and home.

Unfortunately Jake's ute had broken down, so all the boys got under the hood and now think they have the problem solved. Have to get parts tomorrow.

Dena had a meal in the slow cooker when we got home.

Day 19 We Explore Aust Part 2 2010

Not a lot again today, the boys had lots of friends coming and going and working on their bikes. I caught up with my washing.

We loaded Skype on my computer so I can chat with friends and family free......but surely nothings for free.....we will see.

Went into Jimboomba and filled up with food and wine. Then headed up to Salisbury, where Dena works and had lunch with her. We forgot that its a long weekend up here and the traffic was awful, stayed at the Beaudesert Caravan Park.

Day 16 We Explore Aust Part 2 2010

Heading across to Dena's today. Had to fuel up at Warwick and what a performance that was. There was one chap that couldn't get the gas hose to screw in and when he eventually finished he washed his windows and locked the car, wife in it, and strolled over to pay. Next guy couldn't quite get in the proper place and the only put $13 in, but at least he did move out before paying. They had to wait for us to put in 145 lt, and I was over ready to pay as soon as Gerald had finished.

Into Boonah for the night at the showgrounds, very nice, still a bit chilli at night.

Day 15 We Explore Aust Part 2 2010

Well out in our shorts for the first time today, but its still cold at night. Just sat round and read.

Thought we would go into the spa a little bit earlier today, there was no one there, but we must have been magnets because all the nomads kept coming till there was about 12 in there so we got out and went back to reading.

Day 14 We Explore Aust Part 2 2010

Caught up with some friends in Moree and looked at their new units, which looked really good.

On our way to Boomi we saw lots of cotton on the side of the road and in one place there seem to be lots of pallets of cotton but its hard to get a picture at 80 km. The land is so flat.

Arrived at Boomi Chad and Tracy booked us in $28 for two night and entry to the pool area, we think it was $13 for a powered site, bit hard to follow, but everything was there showers toilets and washing machine.

Went to the local Pub for lunch Gerald had home made rissols and gravey and I had fishermans basket a total of $23.

Tonight is free as we booked for a week, so we brought a book on all the artestian springs in Australia. Bit colder today so we didn't go into the pools today

Toured the town today, larger than I thought. Went out to the airport, nothing much there, went to Wollies and stocked up but everything closes at 4pm on Sundays. The park is between airport and the railway bliss for Gerald.

Could have sworn it was Sunday today. Gerald is a bad today after washing the bus the other day. So there were a few Clint Eastwood movies on so he watched them, I have been reading and thought I had better update my blog.

Nice day today sunny but a little windy. We put the anti-flappers and ribs in the awing just as a precaution.

The park had a band playing at the back BBQ not far from us, not our style though. I had a nice long spa after tea very relaxing

Well what a big day today. We went and dumped our black and grey water, and guess what....we washed the bus. There is a great area for the washing of vans and buses, not every park have the water needed.

Back at our site after the chrome was polished and the tyres blacked, time for a spa. Life so hard but someone has to do it.

Overcast today with showers every now and then. We are on holidays so we aren't exerting ourselves, just a dip in the spas every now and then

Headed out today to replenish the cupboards. Found a Wollies. One thing we have found it hard to get in some places ate the Glad Ice bags you fill with water and they make about12 ice blocks. We brought all we could at Exmouth last year and haven't found any since I didn't think to look at home.

We hadn't seen a Tassie car since we left the boat until the supermarket car park where there were two. We went back to the caravan park and re-booked. We were going for four nights and the girl suggested a week and you get a night free we have no plans so why not. And low and behold there are four Tassie cars round us.
