We thought we would try a different smoother track to leave Gladstone Beach today, went well for about two km but it seems to be getting right away from the main track so we turned round and met another 4x4, they didn't have much english and weren't sure if the track went to the highway. Anyway we got back on the original track and just near the gate the 4x4 shot out of a side track so didn't seem to save much. Then later on the way to Nanga Station we saw them on the side of the road with the guy underneath, we surmised that he may have done something to the muffler. No good us stopping with Geralds back.
On to Nanga Bay Resort, it is owned by a Chinese or Filipino woman who hasn't spent any money on it and its a bit run down but the Spa was nice and hot and the beach was nice too. We had a spa in the afternoon and another before we went to bed very spoilt.
